Official Blount County criminal-record questions belong with the agency that created or keeps the file. This private reference cannot supply a record. The contacts below route court cases to the Circuit Clerk, custody and sheriff reports to the Sheriff’s Office, statewide personal history to ALEA, and city reports to the police department that wrote them.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the office tied to the record rather than sending one broad request to every agency:

  • Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Criminal records and personal CHRI review: contact the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency
  • Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the Blount County Sheriff’s Office
  • Official fingerprint self-review: follow ALEA’s Criminal Records Identification Unit process
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Expungement: obtain the required certified history and file in the proper court

For sheriff reports and county custody records, contact the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, 225 Industrial Park Road, Oneonta, AL 35121, at 205-973-0517. Administrative hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; the jail line is 205-625-4133.

For filed felony or misdemeanor cases, contact the Blount County Circuit Clerk at 205-973-0499, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Its normal counter is Room 208 at 220 Second Avenue East, but the clerk currently publishes a temporary office at 1000 Lincoln Avenue during renovation. Call before traveling.
